Wellington Community Connections

Engaging community for the future

  • We opened up the garden Christmas day for those that might be alone at Christmas. A beautiful day and very worthwhile doing.

Merry Christmas for 2025 and a prosperous 2026!

  • Karori Park Free Book Box, has been in place since 2016. Take books add books, a mini library at the Karori Park Playground. Recycling books to stop them going to the landfill and encouraging people ( especially the young to read). In July 2017, the park got a new book box that could handle Karori weather, this was supplied and built by local Gabriel Chambers and is the solid and colourful one you still see in 2025. It has been successful because of community commitment, and it is also a spot where good conversations are had.

The book box is now self managed, which keeps up quality and variety of books and magazines. This also helps in the longevity of the box.
